The Many Styles of Goth in This Day and Age

Goth really cannot be defined by any one category. It has so much to offer and it has the ability to make you feel more unique than ever before. If you are interested in finding out some of the styles of goth or if you want to know more about some of the subcategories then you can find out whatever you need to know, right here.

Romantic Goth

This is a style that is recognised by its Victorian influences. You have luxurious dresses, aristocratic appearances and velvet. The appearance is a mystery and corsets are very popular. This is one of the most visually striking gothic styles out there, and nothing can quite come close to what it has to offer in terms of style options.

Gothabilly

Gothabilly is when you combine pin up with gothic fashion. This started out in the 1950’s and it has dark roots. It’s related to fashion and garters, cherry jewellery and high platforms are very notable. You also have tattoo art and it is a very expressive style.

Punk Goth

Punk Goth came from the punk fashion influence. Mohawks, leather jackets and even piercings are often seen and it gives people the chance to take a much darker approach to their style. Punk is often associated with being eccentric, so pencilled eyebrows and heavy makeup is often seen.

Gothic Lolita

Japanese fashion is usually daring, and that’s where Lolita comes from. This is a known style and if you want to understand the fashion then you need to go way back to the Edwardian times. This included lace umbrellas, frilly skirts and even knee-high socks as well. The porcelain doll look is what a lot of people strive for and there are many different old school styles available.
